Swinging

Sometimes I just feel like swinging. I had this one in my head for awhile, decided I would have to try to draw it. I am getting really close to purchasing some water colors and canvas. For now I am making do with my sketch pad and watercolor pencils.

As a child I always loved to swing. Goes the same for sitting in a rocking chair, maybe it is a form of self soothing for me but the relaxed back and forth motion always gives me a sense of peace. Leaning back as far as I could and letting the wind blow through my hair. It is almost like a form of flying, you can briefly imagine yourself soaring through the air the clouds by your side, the world floating beneath your feet.

When I was pregnant with Braedon, my family and I went to the park for evening walks several times. I remember even though my belly made me a bit uncomfortable, I loved sitting in the swing. I will never get to take Braedon to the park yet it does make me feel a bit of happiness that for a short time, I was able to push my baby in the swing. It was a moment that we shared just him and I.

  5. Beautiful image and a lovely memory to go with it. I'm glad you got to share that moment with Braedon, on the swing, but I do so wish you'd had many, many more together.
